In a few short weeks, we will be rid of the Blaine House buffoon, Paul R. LePage.
No statue will ever be erected in his honor. No bridges, no schools, nor any airports will bear his name. No lasting legacy of anything good or decent will be attached to his withering memory.
Maine’s bombastic and crude governor will be just a bad memory in a few years, like his hero infesting the Oval Office. LePage will never be remembered as a statesman or a role model, despite his rise from orphaned street urchin to junk salesman to mayor, and eventually governor. He squandered it all.
Shawn Moody should have waltzed right into his place on Election Day - a less bigoted, less cartoonish version of our lame duck snowflake. However a successful businessman with a fistful of cash and popular support couldn’t overcome the dark cloud of Paul LePage.
Good riddance, Guv.
