This wrangling argument about the DACA program is, in my opinion, a ruse to enable the legalization of millions of illegal aliens in America. Part of the confusion relates to using the term "DACA recipients" interchangeably with "Dreamers". There are about 3.5 million Dreamers in America. These are illegal aliens who came here as children. Obozo wanted to give protection to all of them and the DREAM Act was sent to Congress to do that.
Congress turned this amnesty plan down. Obozo, then...ever the petulant little snot, enacted DACA which now applies to 899,000 Dreamers who have applied for it. The requirements for DACA are:
1. You were under 31 years old as of June 15, 2012;
2. You first came to the United States before your 16th birthday;
3. You have lived continuously in the United States from June 15, 2007 until the present;
4. You were physically present in the United States on June 15, 2012 and at the time you apply;
You came to the United States without documents before June 15, 2012, or your lawful status expired as of June 15, 2012;
5. You are currently studying, or you graduated from high school or earned a certificate of completion of high school or GED, or have been honorably discharged from the Coast Guard or military (technical and trade school completion also qualifies); and
6. You have NOT been convicted of a felony, certain significant misdemeanors (including a single DUI), or three or more misdemeanors of any kind.
There are lots of illegals who came here as children who do not meet these requirements. They are the DREAMERS under the failed DREAM Act. How long do you think it will take the Liberals and the gonad deprived Republicans to offer new laws to let the additional 2.7 million unregistered Democrats in.
There are about a zillion blogs telling us that the Dreamers are near sainthood what with their superior education, work history, non-welfare seeking, who are better and more law abiding people than native born or legal immigrants are. I don't believe it.
