The individuals accepting these designations, can have only 2 reasons. They are either immoral and unethical and are seeking personal gain through deception and thievery, at the expense of others.

Yes, being labeled a victim, and getting benefits because of it, is being patted on the head by your owner.
After all, you can't make do on your own. Institutionalized Victimhood is essentially a huge insult.
