If any of you haven't checked out this forum you're missing an education. Mostly inhabited by ultra left wing posters you can get a glimpse behind enemy lines by reading the remarks there. More than a few times posters have called for death, sickness to visit those politicians with whom they disagree. Recently a poster called for the assignation of John Bolton.
I post there occasionally, casting pearls before swine with predictable results. What surprises me is the hatred, vitriol, and anarchistic comments. Liberals there are a pretty unhappy group and not all that informed - how could they be reading the Bangor Daily News? Free speech, dissent, open discussions? Not so much. Whoever moderates the forum silently shuts down comments from conservatives while the liberals appear to have free reign to say practically anything. I did contact the BDN via email about the John Bolton assassination request, as usual the BDN didn't respond.
However, if one wanted to know what it would be like living in a liberal utopia, I heartily recommend spending some time there. It's sort of like being behind enemy lines.
Forums where everyone is like minded often get boring - it's usually interesting to discuss issues with folks with opposing views - to see things from another perspective. The BDN forum though (and I'm sure there are others) illustrates just how close to ruination this Nation is. There are some violent, opinionated people walking among us who would really like to change America into something I hope it never becomes.
